At every cookout, the deviled eggs go first. Make more than you think you need.

What You’ll Need:

  • 12 eggs
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper
  • Paprika for garnish

How to Make Them:

  1. Cover the eggs with cold water, bring to a boil, then cover, turn off the heat, and let them sit 12 minutes.
  2. Move to an ice bath for 10 minutes, then peel.
  3. Halve the eggs and pop the yolks into a bowl. Mash with the mayo, mustard, pickle juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Pipe or spoon the filling back into the whites. Dust with paprika.

Pro Tips:

  • Older eggs (a week or so) peel more easily than fresh ones.
  • Add crumbled bacon, minced jalapeño, or pimento cheese for variations.
  • Transport them in a muffin tin to keep them from sliding around.
